AM Grind: Could the US Military 'Go Woke, Go Broke?'
US Military recruitment is at an all-time low. Now the troops are fighting back!
It was Veteran Outreach and Active Military Appreciation Day March 17th. Patrick Rafferty discussed the Woke Madness that has invaded our armed forces.
First, read up on the background: The Rise of Wokeness in the Military
Complaints by veteran soldiers about younger generations who lack discipline and traditional values are as old as war itself. Grizzled veterans in the Greek phalanx, Roman legions, and Napoleon’s elite corps all believed that failings of the young would be the ruin of their armies. This is not the chief worry of grizzled American veterans today.
The largest threat they see by far to our current military is the weakening of its fabric by radical progressive (or “woke”) policies being imposed, not by a rising generation of slackers, but by the very leaders charged with ensuring their readiness.

Jon Jerome, organization’s founder, and president:
They can get food, auto stuff, cleaning supplies, towels, sheets, pillow cases, coffee makers, coffee pots, other household items. They can come in for a suit for a (job) interview, and if they get the job, they can come back and get five more. We had one Vietnam veteran who said he’d never owned a computer, and he walked out with a laptop.
When veterans or military members set up an appointment for their monthly shopping trip, they are asked to discuss their “mission” so we can try to provide them what they need most.
If it’s Valentine’s Day, maybe they’ll come in a get a Coach purse for their wife.
If they say they’re going to be watching their grandkids, we’ll get them diapers, drinks, cereal.
That way the money they would be spending on their mission
can be used to pay their utility bills.”

Update to Drone debacle.
As previously reported, Russia did some saber-rattling by relieving itself on a possibly wayward US Drone. We now have video showing Russian jet dumping fuel on US Reaper drone during 'reckless’ interception over Black Sea.
A former jet pilot tells Sky News the fuel dump was probably an attempt to down the unmanned drone but that the collision was almost certainly an accident. Tensions have spiked since the incident and prompted calls between the US and Russia's top commanders.
Patrick: Specifically what is missing, is the part about a jet going three or four hundred miles an hour "clipping" the drone. Notice as well that no one says anything about the drone being over international waters, just that it crashed into international waters.

Large U.S. banks injected $30 billion in deposits into First Republic Bank on Thursday, swooping in to rescue the lender caught up in a widening crisis triggered by the collapse of two other mid-size U.S. lenders over the past week.
Patrick: First Republic "deposits" from other US banks: it's just a forced bailout by the Fed via the major banks it controls. There is a significant risk here of contagion now that four of the largest banks in the country have 20 billion of their own reserves invested in a failing institution.
BTW - First Republic had also made a ‘woke’ video. Enjoy:
