“Good morning, it is time for the Thursday, September 7, 2023 edition of the AM Grind. My name is Patrick Rafferty and I'm your host this morning on America Mission's Monday thru Friday morning Twitter space.Special thanks to Pat Riotism, Al, Carol and everyone who helped out last Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. And today we'll have Kim, our head of communications from America Mission co-hosting with me and Carol. On the agenda, based on a fiery and impassioned discussion in our AMGrind chat, I figured the economy deserved a day in the spotlight. So, we'll talk about some of the trends we're seeing, Bidenomics, and, because no discussion on the economy is complete without them, the Ukraine War, China, BRICS, and Central Africa will round out the story from where I'm sitting.
But before we hit the economy, I figure we can warm up the room with the ridiculous injustice and persecution of the Proud Boys, most egregiously in my opinion, Enrique Tarrio's 22 years sentence and he wasn't even there... Also Joe Biden looks ever more frail, and seems the party is looking to replace him before the general, but I'm thinking they'd wait until the convention to do it... Which for a tool like Gavin Newsom means the media will be able to cover for him, but we'll see. And, on the Republican front, I think the primary season is all but over, though that saddens me on some level.”

It’s The Economy, Stupid?
P.R.: “We often hear it's the Economy stupid, and, in many ways that's what drives your everyday "joe" or "jane" when they head to the polls. So, what is going on with the economy, and why?”

The phrase is often quoted from a televised quip by Carville, who was a strategist in Bill Clinton's successful 1992 presidential campaign against incumbent George H.W. Bush.
Today, many Americans are once again out of work and in debt, and the economy, heavily influenced by the pandemic, is influencing the election, and concerns over the results of the election are further influencing the economy. The phrase is often used to remind voters that the main focus of the campaign was the economy.”

“Economists added yet another term to their lexicon in recent months: immaculate disinflation. While there’s no official definition of immaculate disinflation, the phrase is being used to describe a scenario where inflation cools without causing a spike in unemployment.”
“But we should talk about inflation, which is a thing...
Core inflation only shows an increase of 12% over the past 3 years, however, that number is misleading.”
