He Fancies Himself an Election Expert: Justin Riemer
A "RINO" through and through, who emerged from the McCain / Romney / Bush wing of the RNC, this legal "parrot" needs to go in favor of a "Legal Eagle".
Meet Justin Riemer, the former Chief Counsel for the Republican National Committee (“RNC”) and a prominent figure in DC RINO Republican circles. His work for the RNC as Chief Counsel played a significant role in the organization's legal and election integrity efforts. Under Riemer’s influence, the RNC allowed the DC uniparty elite to thrive while everyday Republicans languished.
Riemer graduated with a B.A. in History and Religion from Gettysburg College and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He got his start in politics 20 years ago as an intern for DCI Group. A couple years of clerking later, Riemer's career in election law began with his attorney work for Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.
Riemer served as the Deputy Director of the RNLA, Deputy Secretary of the Virginia State Board of Elections (SBE), and as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration. These roles provided him with a comprehensive understanding of election law and administration at both the state and federal levels, which he later leveraged to benefit the RNC establishment.
After a few years of consultancy work, he set his sights on the RNC, becoming their deputy chief counsel in 2015. He left a year later to be an attorney for the Department of Education under Secretary Betsy DeVos. In 2018, Riemer returned to the RNC, this time with a promotion to Chief Counsel. In this role, he led the counsel's office through the 2020 election cycle. However, Riemer famously turned on the Trump team after the 2020 election. At that time, he called Rudy Guliani's legal efforts a "joke" being "laughed out of the court".
In addition to his work surrounding the 2020 election, Riemer was at the forefront of the RNC's Election Integrity efforts, which purportedly aimed to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. During this time, he was tasked with protecting the integrity of elections across the country, RNC compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing expertise on campaign finance and election administration.
Justin has written for and presented extensively on election law matters, including testifying before the U.S. Senate Rules Committee and the Virginia General Assembly. Last year, he testified before the Committee on House Administration for an “Accelerating Charitable Efforts” (ACE) Act hearing. Riemer leaned on his time at the RNC to advise the committee to loosen fundraising regulations and raise donation limits for national committees. These days, Riemer is the Principal at Riemer Law over in the DC tristate. He couldn’t stay away; there was so much money to be made.
Justin Riemer’s role in shaping the Republican National Committee's legal and election integrity strategies was pivotal. Through his decisions, while working to “protect” the integrity of elections across the country, he helped ensure that the RNC remained captured by political elites and largely weak. His contributions and achievements have left a lasting impact on the RNC and the broader political landscape, and he remains a respected figure in the eyes of the Republican half of the uniparty establishment. If Riemer’s name ever gets floated to the RNC again, hopefully, it’s laughed right out of the new Trumpian pro-MAGA RNC.
